November the 29th, 2020 – Sana Delicatessen, a small Koprivnica company with what is clearly a very big heart, has been declared the best donor alongside far larger, much more well known Croatian companies.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marta Duic writes, Konzum plus and Dukat received the “Best donor” award, which is being awarded for the third year in a row by the Food Network and MEP Biljana Borzan. The largest donor in the category of small and medium-sized companies, the Koprivnica company Sana Delicatessen, donated food with a sales value of 43,855 kuna, which makes up 0.64 percent of the company’s annual revenue. Representatives of the awarded companies were given the right to use the title “Best donor” (Croatian: Najdonator) and make use of the official logo for a period of one year.

”Behind the value of the donated food is the significant commitment and effort of our workers because the donated food was saved before its expiration date, and it isn’t food donated out of excess income. In this way, we are doubly proud because we not only donated food to those who need it the most and thus showed our social sensitivity, but we also saved that food from destruction and thus took care of the environment. Concern for the well-being of people and the environment with the satisfaction of our employees are the basic goals of Sana’s business, that’s why we’re bringing food to the market that provides a good feeling,” said Silvija Repic, the director of this small Koprivnica company.

Although they have been present on the market for only about six years, this Koprivnica company has managed to launch more than 150 products that are sold at hundreds of outlets throughout Croatia in the retail and horeca segment.

According to Repic, the most famous product from Sana is its hummus spread, and with the addition of pumpkin seeds, they have a recognisable “domestic” taste that Croatian customers recognise instantly and enjoy. In addition, they recently presented a new avocado spread – the popular Guacamole, and in addition to being sold here on the Croatia market, those products have also found their way to neighbouring Slovenia and nearby Austria.
