Rimac Automobili Opening Offices in Osijek and Split

Total Croatia News

Big plans from one of the top Croatian companies.

Rimac Automobili and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology in Osijek (FERIT) have launched the first automotive course in Electrical Engineering/Computing area (Automotive Computing and Communications), announced Croatian entrepreneur Mate Rimac on his Facebook profile, adding that he would open a development office in Osijek, reports Index.hr on January 13, 2018.

“In addition to proving the support in curriculum planning, colleagues from Rimac Automobili regularly give lectures at the FERIT as part of the teaching process. Today, the lectures to students were provided by Matija Gracin (Head of Component Engineering – one of the first company employees and manager of a department with nearly 100 engineers) and Raj R. Kumar (Embedded Software Lead Engineer – he was born in India and worked in Germany, Switzerland, Austria…). I think it was exciting today in Osijek – engineers with hands-on international experience speaking about specific issues – and not about some general theory. I thank my colleagues for investing their private time in this great initiative, and I must praise the FERIT professors and leadership who initiated this project.

As far as the development office is concerned – several days ago we found a location for it, and we will start with the moving in preparations. We have employed the first three colleagues in Osijek, and they have already attended first training courses in Zagreb.

In addition to Osijek, we are also launching a development office in Split, where the site has already been rented, and the colleagues started working on projects about a month or two ago.

In parallel, we are developing our activities in China as well, where we will build a production plant for the Chinese market, while production for other markets will remain in Croatia.

Greyp and Rimac Automobili have now reached nearly 300 employees, and we will soon open more than a hundred new jobs. We are working on a new car, new bicycles, new drives, batteries and infotainment systems (and many other solutions), as well as on large projects for seven major manufacturers, with additional investments coming up and a new large campus near Zagreb to be constructed.

I hope we will be able to realise our vision, that all locations will grow and that we will soon open new locations. We have big plans, but as always – I want to remind you that we are just at the beginning of our journey and real challenges are still ahead of us. This year will be exciting and crucial for us. Fingers crossed,” wrote Rimac.
