Young student from Zagreb shows some entrepreneurial spirit.
Student Matej Brečić from Zagreb designs and manufactures his own T-shirts that he himself would want to wear. He does everything alone, from design and marketing to sales. He started the business unsatisfied with the offer available on the market, reports liderpress.hr on April 15, 2016.
The main characteristic of Pocket.hr shirts are, of course, the pockets. Matej emphasizes that the quality of materials is very important to him. “Brands that produce this kind of clothes are much talked about, they have a fancy design, but the shirts fall apart after they are washed twice. I would not want that to happen to any shirt I buy, so the same goes for the products I create. I want them to be visually attractive, but also made from quality, durable materials”, says the 22-year-old Brečić.
Pocket.hr deals exclusively with online sales. Matej prefers social networks as a sales channel. He does not have a specialized website for sales and says he does not need one. It would be too great a cost. He collaborates with the company Markonci on printing T-shirts and is very happy with them.
“I am primarily focused on Facebook and Instagram. Young people, high school, and college students, who are my main customers, mainly buy products through social networks. Facebook and Instagram are ideal tools for marketing and for communication with interested parties”, he explains.
Brečić points out that summer is the perfect time for Pocket.hr and he learned that the hard way. After his summer collection was a complete success, he tried to do the same with the winter collection, but it was not a big hit. The initial capital, the combination of the earnings from his student jobs and loans from his parents, amounted to 12,000 kuna. So far, he sold more than 100 T-shirts. The price is 180,00 kuna per short-sleeved T-shirt while long-sleeved shirts cost 300 kuna.
