Varteks makes a deal to clothe a lot of transport workers.

Employees of transportation companies from Croatia and Slovenia which are members of the international corporation Arriva Deutsche Bahn will be going to work in clothes made by Varteks, Croatia’s largest textile and fashion company, reports tportal.hr on March 20, 2016.

The Varaždin-based company has become a partner of the transportation companies and will manufacture work uniforms that include jackets, pants and shirts, in accordance with the agreement on cooperation signed in Varaždin by Zoran Košćec, CEO of Varteks, and Dražen Divjak, Arriva general manager for Croatia and CEO of Panturist, which has been one of the leading Croatian transport companies for 70 years and has been providing services in the field of tourism for 40 years through its offices in Osijek, Vinkovci, Slavonski Brod, Zagreb, Split and Varaždin.

Six Slovenian transport companies within Arriva Slovenia employ about one thousand workers, while Panturist, which has been a member of the Arriva Deutsche Bahn Group for the past two years, has another 300 employees and is growing. The growth in the number of employees is a result of the steady expansion of activities and development of new business models. In these activities and in the expansion into the international markets, Panturist has included the renowned Croatian companies such as Varteks, Atlantic Group and Franck.

After Panturist became a part of Arriva Deutsche Bahn Group, great strides were made through projects such as IC Bus Line and Arriva Express line. With more than 300,000 employees and operations in 130 countries, Deutsche Bahn AG is the world’s leading provider of transportation and logistics services, while Arriva is responsible for the growth and development of the entire regional passenger transport outside of Germany, and it has nearly 56,000 employees with a significant presence in 14 countries worldwide and more than 2.2 billion annual trips.

Cooperation between Varteks and the Arriva Deutsche Bahn Group’s companies from Croatia and Slovenia opens the possibility to place Varteks’ products on other foreign markets within the Deutsche Bahn AG network, which would additionally strengthen the export potential of Varteks. The company currently exports its products to more from 20 countries.
