In the competition of more than 3,000 cheeses, Croatian cheese was named the best in Central and Eastern Europe.
At the World Cheese Awards held in San Sebastian, Spain, over 3,000 cheeses from around the world competed. Paški sir (cheese from Pag) from Paška Sirana d.d. was voted the best cheese in Central and Eastern Europe at the World Cheese Awards.

The great success of Paški sir took place at the 20th jubilee of the World Cheese Awards. This time, Pag cheese makers won a handful of medals, of which the greatest success achieved for Pag cheese was being awarded the Super Gold Medal in the category of hard, sheep cheese and being named the best cheese in Central and Eastern Europe.
Within the World Cheese Awards was also the International Cheese Market and Cheese Fair where Croatian colors were defended by “Association of Pag cheese, three islands cheese” that began performing together to promote Pag cheese, announced Poslovni.hr.

Some 266 cheese experts from 26 different nations judged more than 3,000 cheeses from 31 countries, awarding bronze, silver, gold and super gold. A judging panel of 17 cheese makers, buyers, retailers and writers decided the final winning Champion of Champions.
