The quake was also felt internationally, with reports from Belgrade and northern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The area of Petrinja and Sisak, where the quake occurred, is still recovering from a series of quakes, the most devastating of which was the 6.2 tremor of December 29, which has left many homeless, and thousands of homes destroyed.
Last night’s quake was the strongest in recent days, but it was not an isolated tremor, with EMSC reported 45 other earthquakes in Croatia in the preceding 72 hours.
