October the 22nd, 2024 – Gorgeous Opatija is set to get yet another luxury hotel to fit perfectly in with its well known Austro-Hungarian glamour.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Slovenian entrepreneur Joc Pečečnik, Jasna Brajković and Ivona Maržić are the owners of a luxury hotel scheduled to open in Ičići not far from Opatija in the first half of next year. It will be called Sealeven Hotel & Residences and will be managed by Grand Metropolitan Hotels under the Destination by Hyatt brand.
Sealeven Hotel & Residences is currently undergoing the final phases of construction and is expected to open in the first half of 2026. It has been built above the Ičići Hotel in Ičići near Opatija, and is currently undergoing renovation, furnishing and horticultural work. Sealeven Hotel & Residences will feature exclusively apartment accommodation in eleven buildings boasting a total of 85 units, and in a statement they announce the fusion of contemporary elegance with authentic local spirit.
As touched on above, the exciting future Opatija luxury hotel will be managed by Grand Metropolitan Hotels under the Destination by Hyatt brand, based on a franchise agreement between the owner company Projekt Galerija and its affiliate Hyatt. According to the court registry, the owners of the company Projekt Galerija are Jasna Brajković, Ivona Maržić with a 25 percent stake each, and the Dutch company Elektroncek Group owned by Slovenian businessman Joc Pečečnik with a 50 percent stake. Pečečnik is otherwise one of the more famous Slovenian entrepreneurs who became rich by selling off the Interblock company, which produces gaming machines. At one time, it was speculated that the company was sold for an enormous 300 million euros.
“Through the branded and fully serviced residences Sealeven Hotel & Residences, we’re introducing a totally new concept to the northern Adriatic. We’re extremely pleased to have Grand Metropolitan Hotels and Hyatt as reliable partners with international knowledge and many years of experience in the field of branded hospitality,” said Joc Pečečnik, one of the owners of the project.
