October the 7th, 2026 – Osijek-London flights will continue in 2027 despite the decline in overall passenger numbers from Osijek Airport.
Osijek Airport recorded a noticeable drop in passenger numbers during the month of September compared to the same month last year. As SIB.net reports, total of 3,026 passengers passed through Croatia’s easternmost airport last month, while back in September 2025 there were 5,449. According to information published on the Croatian Aviation website, this is 2,423 fewer passengers, or a drop of 44.5 percent year-on-year.
The result was also affected by the absence of regular traffic on the Osijek–London route. The Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair operated the seasonal route twice a week during September last year, while this year the route operated for a significantly shorter period. Total figures for the first nine months also show a decline. From January to the end of September, 28,605 passengers passed through Osijek Airport, which is 23.4 percent fewer than in the same period of 2025.

Osijek Airport now faces a change in the schedule during the winter months. Traffic is ending on three more seasonal PSO routes – Trade Air to Zadar and Croatia Airlines routes to Dubrovnik and Split. Additional attention is drawn by the fact that, according to currently available information, tickets for domestic PSO routes from Osijek are not being sold for the period from January 2027. For now, this means that there is no available ticket sales for that part of the schedule, while any decisions on the continuation or changes to the routes will be known later. PSO routes are an important part of Osijek’s transport connectivity with other Croatian destinations, and decisions on their schedule and continuation fall under the competence of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.
ryanair confirms osijek-london flights for 2027
Low-cost and wildly popular airline Ryanair has confirmed flights between Osijek and London in 2027 as well. Unfortunately, as was the case during this season, they will operate only during three months – from the beginning of June to the end of August. This is quite unlike the situation elsewhere across the country, particularly in Zagreb which connects directly to London Stansted on a daily basis year-round. The first flight will operate from Osijek on the 2nd of June, a Wednesday, at the rather unfavourable time of 23:25, while the second flight of the week will be on Saturdays at the better time of 11:10.
From London to Osijek, the aircraft will depart on Wednesdays at 19:35 and on Saturdays early in the morning at 07:20. Unfortunately, this is the only route of this carrier to Osijek. The price varies, but the minimum is 55 euros one way, which is considerably more expensive than it is from Zagreb.

Works on the reconstruction of Osijek Airport itself are nearing completion, so the new flight season will be welcomed by a completely renovated passenger terminal. This is a valuable investment and, it can only be hoped, an announcement of some new flights from the easternmost Croatian airport that is almost forgotten in comparison to others across the country. For that, many parameters need to align, and it doesn’t depend only on the airport but also on local self-government units and the related ministry.
