November 8, 2023 – Plitvice lakes are especially beautiful in autumn. The improved conditions for the waterfalls, in addition to the autumn colors, attract many visitors to the National Park in the off-season.

An added benefit to visiting this natural wonder in the autumn is the fact that the crowds do significantly subside. In the summer, on the other hand, the park counts more than 10,000 visitors per day. And during November and December, they usually come out with promotional ticket prices at 10 euros for adults.

New Facility Coming

A warm November in Lika also brings liveliness to the construction sites, writes Poslovni. Plitvice Lakes National Park is the construction, or rather renovation site of the Kozjak restaurant. This includes an outdoor area with a terrace and a wide staircase.

The interesting thing about the project worth 1.1 million euros is that it is being done from the ground up, but as a facsimile reconstruction of the building of the Kozjak restaurant, according to its original condition from 1949. And as for the design, recordings from 1981 were used.

Restaurant Kozjak was built in 1949, shortly after the Second World War, according to the design of architect Ivan Strižić, and was a protected cultural asset. However, after dilapidation and partial collapse, the Ministry of Culture approved the removal of the building, on the condition that it be recreated as a facsimile, in order to preserve its ambient value.

However, according to the director of the National Park, Tomislav Kovačević, the purpose will be slightly changed, it will be a cafe-pastry shop with a decorated outdoor area for guests, i.e. it will have a terrace with 40 seats. The indoor area will have 60 seats.

The planned completion of the works is next spring.
