Avoid irritating fines and wagging fingers from the long arm of the law this weekend as the police up their game.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 24th of August, 2018, police actions are being undertaken this weekend as a result of an increasing number of fatal traffic accidents, as well as to increase the overall level of traffic safety.
In the area of the Zagreb police administration this weekend, from Friday, August the 24th, until Monday, August the 27th, actions with an emphasis placed on alcohol and drugs, as well as speeding will be carried out.
As previously mentioned, these actions are being undertaken due to the increased number of very serious and often fatal traffic accidents occurring on Croatia’s roads, as well as to increase the general level of traffic safety and to prevent the occurrence of some of the most serious traffic violations, primarily including speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
During this particular traffic control action, all of the stopped drivers will face their respective punishments and sanctions will be imposed on those committing driving violations, including non-compliance, improper overtaking, pedestrian misdemeanors, the seat belts of drivers and all passengers in the vehicle not being worn, the improper use of mobile phones and other similar devices, all which are offenses which typically increase the occurrence of potentially serious traffic accidents.
