ZAGREB, May 10, 2018 – President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is to conduct a two-day return state visit to Portugal on Friday and Saturday, following an invitation from her Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the president’s office reported on Thursday in a press release.
The state visit will commence on Friday with a welcoming ceremony in Lisbon’s main square and a wreath-laying ceremony on the grave of Luis de Camoes, who is considered to be Portugal’s greatest poet.
This will be followed by a meeting between the two presidents and a bilateral meeting of the official delegations after which the two presidents will address the press.
Grabar-Kitarović is expected to address a Portuguese-Croatian economic forum and then meet with Prime Minister Antonio Luis Santos da Costa and Parliament Speaker Eduard Ferro Rodrigues.
President Grabar-Kitarović will meet that day with Lisbon Mayor Fernando Medina and members of the City Assembly.
On Saturday, the Grabar-Kitarović will go on pilgrimage to Fatima.
