ZAGREB, January 21, 2018 – Croatia’s Science and Education Minister Blaženka Divjak will attend the Education World Forum, the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers, which is taking place in London on 22-24 January.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Preparing students for success: thinking, doing, well-being and learning”, and Divjak will deliver a lecture at the panel “Computing Curriculum, Coding or Computational Thinking”.

“The invitation to participate, and especially the invitation to give a thematic presentation, is a particularly great honour to me and I am glad that at this world forum Croatia will have an opportunity to present new education policies and new teaching paradigms which we aspire to introduce in Croatian schools already this autumn,” Divjak told Hina. She said she would use her three-day visit to London to “talk to colleagues from around the world so that we can use successful education models in Croatia as well.”

Divjak will be the first Croatian minister to address this prestigious gathering of ministers from many countries, including the United Kingdom, Egypt, Thailand and Malaysia, senior officials from such organisations as UNESCO, the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the University of Cambridge, as well as senior representatives of international corporations whose business is based on technology and education.

During the three-day forum, leading education experts, researchers and policy makers will be discussing common issues, opportunities and challenges in the field of education.

The themes of this year’s forum include the 4th industrial revolution, improving the quality of education and training, innovation and new technologies in education, equal access to education, the contribution of education to the economy and society in general, and the impact of economic changes on education.
