HDZ Publishes Data on Loans Received from Private Companies

According to HDZ’s financial report, the party has borrowed funds from several private companies and banks.

Andrej Plenković, a candidate for HDZ president, received on Friday a report prepared by HDZ secretary general Domagoj Ivan Milošević with details about HDZ’s financial operations in 2014 and 2015. The report shows that HDZ has borrowed funds from several private companies, and the last loan was given by the DIV company on 23 December 2015, in the amount of 1.4 million kuna and with an interest rate of 6 percent, reports tportal.hr on July 8, 2016.

That loan has been fully repaid within the stipulated period, on 29 January 2016, when the party also returned a 2 million kuna loan given by Partner Banka on 16 December, with an interest rate of 7.5 percent.

The report also mentions short-term loans from the Prvo Plinarsko Društvo (PPD) company, which gave to HDZ a loan worth 3 million kuna on 11 June 2014 with an interest rate of 7.5 percent. The loan should have been repaid by 31 December 2014. Subsequently, the repayment period was extended five times, the last time to 30 June 2016.

In October 2014, HDZ took another loan from PPD, with the same interest rate, in the amount of 1.8 million kuna. This loan should have been returned by 31 December 2014, but the deadline was moved to 30 March 2015. The report states that the loan was paid back in two instalments, on 23 December 2014 and 27 February 2015.

HDZ took one more loan from PPD on 7 July 2015, in the amount of 2 million kuna and with an interest rate of 7.5 percent, with was due to be repaid by 30 September 2015. The deadline has been moved twice, and the final date by which HDZ should have repaid the loan was 30 June 2016. The owner of the PPD company Pavao Vujnovac confirmed recently to media that the party had not repaid its loans in the amount of 4.2 million kuna. The report states that on 3 February the party returned 800,000 kuna to PPD.

In November 2014, HDZ took a loan from the Viadukt construction company in the amount of 200,000 kuna, with an interest rate of 7.5 percent and the repayment deadline of 31 May 2015. However, the deadline has been postponed twice, the last time to 31 December.

In addition, at the end of 2014 the party took two loans from Zagrebačka Banka, one in the amount of 6,720,000 kuna, while the other was used to reschedule a loan from 2013 for repayment of the remaining amount of 4.8 million kuna. The interest rate for both loans was 5.5 percent, while the repayment deadline is 31 January 2019.
