HDZ’s Mato Frankovic is the new Mayor of the Pearl of the Adriatic

Defeating his MOST (Maro Kristic) and HNS (Valentin Dujmovic) opponents, HDZ’s youthful and charismatic Mato Frankovic has taken the title of Mayor of Dubrovnik.

Frankovic, born in Dubrovnik on the 23rd of February, 1982, went to school in the United States, followed by a two-year program at the famed Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned the title of Associate of Applied Science in the year 2003. He worked at the Generalturist agency in Dubrovnik for five years, where he quickly shone and rose above his peers, he moved yet higher when he became the executive director of the Lanta Generalturist agency in Budva, Montenegro. Among other, varied working roles, Frankovic served as the director of the ACI Marina in Dubrovnik and between the years of 2013 and 2014 he was the regional nautical coordinator for the southern Adriatic region.

When it comes to politics, Frankovic served as HDZ Youth President of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, as well as completing one full term of duty as the National HDZ Youth Vice President. From 2012 to 2014, he held the position of local County Councillor. In the year 2014, he was elected as President of the city committee of HDZ for the City of Dubrovnik, and the following year he was elected President of the City Council of Dubrovnik.

Now the new Mayor of Dubrovnik, Frankovic will have a lot of work on his hands to keep everyone in the Pearl of the Adriatic satisfied, and to keep what truly matters to the soul and identity of Dubrovnik close to his heart.

We wish him well!
