It’s time for difficult decisions, says the biggest surprise of 2015 Croatian elections
Here is the first public address of the leader of Most, the biggest surprise of the 2015 Croatian Parliamentary elections on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Both coalitions will be looking to him and to his party to form the new government. At 22:54, after 25% of votes were counted, MOST was showing 19 parliaments seats. That situation might change by the end of the day, but it is certain they will play the key role in these elections.
“Croatia will be a country in which you won’t have to worry about what will happen tomorrow. You have the right to ask people to take responsibility for their actions and to serve the interest of the public. Todays voting was both a right and an obligation. We are obliged to answer in accordance with what we promised you. Obliged because we gave our word, and today, that word means responsibility. Greater than any contracts or documents. There are decisive moments in life and they ask for immediate responsibility, in those moments you don’t divide people on any basis. You hope tha you will accept the call to contribute towards creating a better country. Today, more than ever, we need to include all of the most competent people and build a better and more just system. May the citizens be a hundred times tougher if anyone tries to diminish all they stand for today, I expect that of all people. We don’t have time for new calculations, time for that was up yesterday. I believe in these people, we all know the difficulty of the situation we’re in. I am calling on all people who will be leading us, let us build a more just system which we will leave to future generations. Honourable, no other way”. said the leader of MOST, Božo Petrov.
