It’s evident that any tax and administrative relief for citizens and entrepreneurs has positive effects.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 12th of January, 2018, Finance Minister Zdravko Marić expressed his satisfaction with tax reform during his appearance on HRT.

”Aside from budget and economic indicators, which are extremely positive, it has also highlighted the significant unburdening of citizens and entrepreneurs. The effects of this are also reflected in investment and economic activities, employment and higher standards for Croatian citizens,” Marić said.

He added that this was only the first step, and that he is already talking about plans for next year.

”In 2018, we’ll continue not only to think and analyse, but to prepare the ground, as we think that the budget situation and the brilliant results of 2016 and 2017 give us the right and obligation to continue on in that direction,” Marić reassured.

”It’s evident that any tax and administrative relief for citizens and entrepreneurs has positive effects and implications both on economic activity and on the budget itself. In the first step, we focused on non indirect taxes  tax on profit and income tax – and we’ll surely continue in that direction. We’re also seriously thinking about indirect taxes, primarily on value added tax,” Minister Marić pointed out.
