ZAGREB, August 17, 2018 – The mayors of the capital cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, Abdulah Skaka, Milan Bandić and Zoran Radojičić respectively, held a meeting in Sarajevo on Friday to discuss possibilities to enhance the cooperation between those three cities, notably on the economic front including tourist trade.

The three mayors agreed that it was necessary to upgrade the cooperation of the capital cities of the three countries in the region and to prepare concrete projects to this end. “People expect us to cooperate and to have a better life thanks to that cooperation,” Zagreb Mayor Bandić told a news conference after the meeting.

Bandić commented on his 20-year-long mayorship, saying that in that period Zagreb has turned into a European city. He went on to say that he is willing to provide his counterparts in Sarajevo and Belgrade with his expertise on how to achieve that.

Bandić said that the cooperation between Zagreb and Sarajevo had been functioning for some time and he is sure that the time has come for concrete projects between Zagreb and Belgrade.

Belgrade mayor Radojičić said that the cooperation between the capital cities was essential for local peoples.

Sarajevo mayor Skaka spoke about steps to be taken for the purpose of a joint tourist project of the three capital cities so as to attract more foreign visitors and enable them to stay longer in the region.
