Elections might be new, but messages coming from MOST are the same. They will not cooperate with HDZ or SDP… or perhaps they will again change their minds?
Ivan Kovačić, MOST’s MP and Mayor of Omiš, strongly criticized statements made by Andrej Plenković, the newly-elected HDZ president, about the possibility of cooperation between HDZ and MOST, saying that such statements were pretentious, reports Večernji List on July 18, 2016.
“One cosmetic change does not mean anything if he is surrounded by all the people who zealously destroyed the previous government and supported bribery and corruption. Plenković will have to make an effort to prove that they have changed”, said Kovačić. “Not only that we are not ready to cooperate with such people, but we will not even talk with them”, he added, saying that each party had the right to nominate its candidate for future Prime Minister, but HDZ as a party had not proven itself to be a party ready to protect national interests.
Commenting on the SDP-led People’s Coalition, he said that it was made of various different types of people who think only about their own interests, and are backed by smaller parties. “With such little political crap who want to achieve only their personal interests and are hiding behind the skirts of big parties, MOST simply does not want to cooperate or even talk”, said Kovačić.
“All ministers who have worked for the benefit of tycoons should bear the responsibility, but the justice system is not producing any results”, said Kovačić. Asked whether major coalitions had tried to contact MOST and whether other parties wanted MOST to join them before the elections, he said that they had still not received any calls, and added that the election results would show everything. Elections are in two months, which is very far away and at the same time very close, concluded Kovačić.
