ZAGREB, May 28, 2018 – Croatia’s National Security Council met on Monday to discuss issues relating to information security in state institutions, highlighting the need for systematic training in order to raise security awareness and strengthen security culture.

The Council also discussed current issues concerning bilateral relations between Croatia and its neighbours and the security aspects of migration towards Croatia and the European Union, the President’s Office said in a press release.

It was the first regular meeting of the National Security Council this year, which was jointly called by the President of the Republic Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said that the National Security Council had instructed the secret services to prepare special measures for media that officials use for communication purposes.

“We have instructed the secret services, including the Intelligence and Security Agency and the Office for National Security, to prepare special measures, recommendations and a legal framework for the use of various media that officials use in communication and for the security of classified information,” the president said after the meeting.
