ZAGREB, January 25, 2018 – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković arrived in Davos on Thursday to attend the traditional World Economic Forum, the Croatian government said in a press release.
Upon arriving in Switzerland, Plenković held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Plenković is also scheduled to meet with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the press release said.
On Thursday, the Croatian Prime Minister will hold talks with global business leaders, including Google CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Matt Britt; President of the Swiss health corporation F. Hoffmann – La Roche AG Christoph Franz; Booking.com CEO Gillian Tans; and Ferit F. Sahenk, Chairman of Turkey’s Doguş Holding conglomerate, which is an investor in Croatia.
On Friday, he is due to meet European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer, European Trade Union Confederation Secretary General Luca Visentini and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
The 48th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, which kicked off on Tuesday, brought together over 2,500 participants and 70 world leaders, including all European leaders — French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni. On Tuesday, the Forum was addressed by the Prime Minister of India, Narenda Modi.
U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the event on Friday. Plenković is scheduled to take part in three debates at the Forum. He will also be present when President Trump addresses the event.
