ZAGREB, January 19, 2018 – Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović concluded her two-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday by visiting the northern town of Derventa, pledging support to Croats living in the Serb entity of Republika Srpska (RS), which is one of two entities which make up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Grabar-Kitarović met with representatives of the Croatian cultural organisation Napredak (Progress) and some of the Croatian officials in the RS government. She said they could count on Croatia’s support in the same way as Croats in other areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The struggle for the equality of Croats throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Republika Srpska, is an important part of my political programme and this visit is symbolic proof of that struggle,” the Croatian President said.
Her host in Derventa was RS Vice-President Josip Jerković.
