“I will repeat that what a large majority know and can see and feel: sexual harassment victims are not equal and same,” the president says, underscoring that differences can be huge ranging “from sheer terror to going beyond bounds of good taste.”
In this context, he underscored that the matter of sexual harassment is always made conditional by someone’s class and status, that is “from higher-ups to down”, and that this refers to the so-called ordinary world, “going from bakeries to universities”.
“Hollywood does not fit into this ordinary, that is, real world, and I do not give a damn for their problems and ‘victims’ who are clawing their way to sign a seven-million-dollar deal for their appearance in an hour and a half of edited material. They have every right to trade on their talents, sex-appeal and attraction. This has its price and premium. It is not for everybody. All is made clear. Let us mind our own business and stay out of other people’s affairs,” Milanović said in his response to some nongovernmental organisations and the gender equality ombudswoman.
He added that he had come under attack from them only because he had questioned the credibility, and primarily, the relevance of certain American actresses.
