ZAGREB, April 6, 2018 – Ahead of Easter observed according to the Julian calendar, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Friday received the Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana Porfirije, for talks on the importance of cooperation in resolving issues important to Serb Orthodox believers and the Serb ethnic minority, the government said in a press release.
Metropolitan Porfirije said he was satisfied with the legal status of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia.
Plenković underlined the importance of cooperation and joint action in resolving issues important to Serb Orthodox believers and the Serb ethnic minority, saying that Croatia had accomplished a lot in protecting the rights of all its ethnic minorities and could be an example to many other countries.
The two officials underlined the value of dialogue between representatives of state institutions and churches and religious communities in the spirit of partnership and respect.
