U.S. Attorney General Sessions to Visit Croatia

ZAGREB, May 22, 2018 – U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will visit Zagreb on May 23-25 and during his trip, he will meet with Croatia’s president, prime minister and government ministers as well as attend, together with his counterparts from six regional countries, a workshop on transnational organised crime, the US Embassy in Zagreb said in a press release on Tuesday.

Sessions will meet with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Minister of Justice Dražen Bošnjaković, Minister of Internal Affairs Davor Božinović, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs State Secretary Andrea Metelko-Zgombić.

The U.S. Attorney General will also participate in a Transnational Organised Crime Regional Workshop at the Police Academy with Chiefs of Police and Chief State Prosecutors from six regional countries.

This visit will be the first official visit by a U.S. Attorney General to Croatia, the U.S. Embassy said.

Attorney General Sessions will discuss bilateral and international law enforcement and judicial cooperation and discuss ways of further strengthening the close law enforcement relationship between the United States and Croatia. He will also visit the U.S. Embassy and meet with Ambassador W. Robert Kohorst and Embassy staff, according to the press release.
