September the 10th, 2026 – Croatia’s world famous Rimac has now officially taken complete control over the legendary Bugatti.

An investment consortium led by HOF Capital has completed the takeover of Porsche’s stakes in the Rimac Group and the company Bugatti Rimac. Index reports that the transaction, initially announced back in April this year, has been officially finalised. Through it, the consortium has taken over Porsche’s 21% ownership in the Rimac Group and 45% stake in the company Bugatti Rimac.

The Rimac Group remains the majority owner of the company Bugatti Rimac with a 55 percent stake. The joint company Bugatti Rimac was founded back in 2021, and in the new consortium the largest investor is BlueFive Capital along with other institutional investors from both the USA and Europe. “This is an important step for Bugatti Rimac and the entire Rimac Group. I’m pleased that HOF Capital and their consortium are becoming our partners in the next phase of the Group’s development and I look forward to working together on realising the full potential of our companies. We have achieved strong progress in all parts of the Group and I believe that this partnership will give us additional momentum for continued growth,” said Mate Rimac, founder and president of the Rimac Group and chief executive officer of the company Bugatti Rimac.

management changes

With the new ownership structure now formally and fully established, Bugatti Rimac is also restructuring its management team. This further strengthens the strategic and operational vision that Mate Rimac set for Bugatti when he was appointed chief executive officer in 2021.

Christophe Piochon is leaving the positions of president of the Bugatti Automobiles brand and chief operating officer of the company Bugatti Rimac. His role as president of Bugatti Automobiles is personally taken over by Mate Rimac. Marko Brkljačić, previously chief operating officer at Rimac Technology, becomes the new chief operating officer of the company Bugatti Rimac. Further changes are also planned, so Hendrik Malinowski, previously director of management at Bugatti Automobiles, will be appointed commercial director of the brand.

Rimac thanked Piochon for his contribution to the brand. “With over two decades spent at Bugatti, Christophe has strongly influenced what that brand represents today. From the Veyron to the Tourbillon, he participated in building and preserving the quality and supreme craftsmanship by which all hypercars that leave Molsheim are recognised. On behalf of the entire Bugatti Rimac team, I want to thank Christophe and wish him every success, and at the same time I take the opportunity to welcome Marko,” Rimac stated.
