Konzum’s instability caused by Agrokor’s mess brings a new wave of bad news.
As Index reports on the 21st of June, 2017 Slavko Ledic has announced the closure of 80 to 100 Konzum stores, and the ”letting go” of workers is planned.
Ledic spoke to members of the press after having met with Ante Ramljak, the extraordinary Commissioner for Agrokor, following the opening of a new Konzum store in Supetar, Brac.
“Every year, we have closed some retail stores with regard to the structure of the population. This year, we will work intensively, because we are focusing on the profitability of the stores, we will close a number of stores, but we will take care of the people according to the law. ” Ledic solemnly confirmed that this meant that works from the stores facing closure would be subsequently fired.
He said he would work on taking care of those affected and that a certain number of employees would be transferred to other stores.
