This is Croatia’s 16th appearance at the World Championship. So far, they have achieved 12 wins, one draw and two losses in their opening matches. Croatia’s last triumph at the opening match of the World Championship was in 2019 when they defeated Iceland 31:27.

Croatia is hungry for a medal this year, especially with it being captain Domagoj Duvnjak’s last dance with the national team. Recall, Croatia won its last medal at the 2020 European Championships. They have finished 15th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 9th in the last five major competitions.

Bravo to Croatia tonight!
