This year’s total winner of the 73rd edition of the Vis Regatta is Molo Longo Tutta Trieste from Rijeka.

The winner of this year’s 73rd edition of the Vis Regatta was decided in the photo finish! ‘Black Mystery’ sailboat with captain Saša Keković of Jugola Grakalić sailing club from Herceg Novi, Montenegro was faster for only 70 milliseconds, which is less then the whole length of the boat, and was first to cross the finish line in the second stage of the Vis Regatta, reports Pomorac.net on October 23, 2017.

At 9 am in the morning in front of the port of Vis and Host islet, a fleet of 155 ships with crews from12 countries, headed for Split, 28 nautical miles away, with the south wind (jugo) blowing at 10 knots. After three hours and 40 minutes of sailing, a real drama unfolded when the two boats – ‘Black Mystery’ from Montenegro and ‘Molo Longo Tutta Trieste’ from Rijeka with captain Rajko Kujundžić at the helm – neared the finish line with a difference of only ten metres between them.  Although ‘Black Mystery’ was first to have crossed the finish line in the second stage of the race, ‘Molo Longo Tutta Trieste’ secured the overall victory of the 73rdVis Regatta, thus defending its last year’s champion title.
