The good news continues for Croatian footballer Ivan Strinić as AC Milan has now officially announced the footballer will return to the pitch next week following a heart condition.

Croatian defender and World Cup regular Ivan Strinić received the “green light” from his medical team at AC Milan earlier this week, saying that the footballer could finally return to the pitch after a heart condition diagnosis in August. Recall, Strinić has not played since this summer.

AC Milan has now officially confirmed the good news on their official website on November 15, 2018.

Milan announced that the 31-year-old Croatian received the doctor’s permission after a series of tests conducted this week at the Cardiology Clinic in Padua. Strinić, who has played 41 matches for the Croatia national team and had a stellar World Cup, can start training on Monday.

The Italian club signed a signed a three-year contract with the Croatian national back in July, though in August he was diagnosed with a heart condition for which the doctor’s advised him to stay far away from the football pitch and rest. Specifically, Strinić’s check-up revealed an onset of hypertrophy of the heart muscle, which required that further and more detailed tests be carried out.

“AC Milan informs that during routine medical tests, carried out on all professional athletes in Italy, it was found that Ivan Strinić suffers from the beginnings of hypertrophy in the cardiac muscle which will need further tests following a rest period. For this reason, the player will have to temporarily suspend competitive sports activity until the exams are completed,” the club confirmed on their official website back in August.

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić has also welcomed the news, considering the left back on the national team has never been an easy position to fill. Based on Tin Jedvaj’s performance on Thursday night against Spain, however, Strinić may have competition when the team prepares for the Euro 2020 qualifications in the spring.
