Bogdanović Passes a Petrović Milestone

On Wednesday night, Bojan Bogdanović passed Petrovic on the Nets’ all-time three-pointers list.

Bojan Bogdanović has thus far excelled at the start of the NBA season playing for the Brooklyn Nets. And to prove it? During the Nets win against Boston, Bogdanović scored 21 points, including three three-pointers, reports Index.hr.

But what is so special about 3 three-pointers during a game? With these three-pointers, Bogdanović has now surpassed Drazen Petrović in the total number of three-pointers achieved playing for the Nets.

The legendary basketball player (Petrović) had a massive although unfortunately short career with the Nets, scoring a total of 220 three-pointers. Bogdanović, who has been with Brooklyn since 2014, has surpassed Petrović’s total by 3 more three-pointers.

“It’s always nice to hear your name in the same sentence with Dražen. It is a great honor for me that I beat him in this,” said Bogdanović, who became the 12th best three-strikes guy in the club’s history.

Bogdanović’s career record number of points in a single game is 44 – the number he scored against the 76ers in March last year. Interestingly enough, Bogdanović and Petrović have another NBA record in common, where Petrović also scored the high 44 points in a single game for the Nets against Houston back in ’93.

“You can not imagine how happy I am, I can not believe it. He is probably the biggest Croatian athlete ever. Recently it was his birthday and it was celebrated throughout the entire country.”

Bogdanović is currently in sole possession of 12th on the Nets’ all-time three-point leaderboard, 11 shy of Stephon Marbury (234). With Marbury, Mirza Teletovic (235) and Lucious Harris (236) all bunched together, Bogdanović should be in the Nets’ top 10 soon.

“The coach wants us to play with pace. When you have so many fast breaks it’s normal to have many open threes,” Bogdanović said. “It’s good to play with this pace.”
