Cedevita Breaks Macedonian Resistance

Total Croatia News

Cedevita basketball players managed to defeat Karpoš Sokole from Macedonia with 81-77 (14-20, 22-19, 25-20, 20-18) in the 24th round of the regional ABA league

Cedevita entered the game slowly despite being unexpectedly defeated by the same team in Skopje earlier in the season. Karpoš set their own rhythm and led with 20-11 in the first quarter. Still, mostly due to the energetic Marko Arapović, Cedevita caught up in the second quarter and took the lead in the third, Jutarnji List reported on February 24, 2017.

When the home team’s advantage grew to 69-62 in the middle of the last quarter, it seemed the resistance of the guests was broken, but Šepa and Labović made three pointers to bring Karpoš back into the game, with the game completely open until the last minute and a half with the score at 78-77. Krušlin then made a three pointer for 81-77 and in the next attack Terajkovski failed to answer so the Croatian champion realised the expected success.

Marko Arapović with 16 and Miro Bilan with 14 pints were the high scorers from Cedevita, while Dragan Labović with 27 and Dominik Mavra with 18 led Karpoš.

Cedevita is in second place with 18 wins and six losses, while Karpoš is ninth with a 9-15 tally.
