Cibona Ties The Play-off Final Series

Total Croatia News

Cibona beat Cedevita 91-85 away, and the final series is now tied at 1-1. The first team to get two more wins will be the new Croatian basketball champion

Cibona went to Cedevita’s court with nothing to lose in the second game of the final series, as they were considered underdogs after losing game one of the finals at the home court. On May 20, 2017, they got the important win, and it is all square again.

The game was tight throughout the first three quarters, and with just over a minute left on the clock, the score was tied at 85-85. Cibona’s hero in this match, Scott Reynolds, scored the three-pointer, and just some twenty-five seconds later blasted another one to decide the winner.

Veljko Mršić, the Cedevita coach, was not too disappointed: “I think that it was quite an entertaining game. At the final minutes, Cibona had more high-quality solutions, and Reynolds scored a couple of great shots. We missed our shots, and have not played defense good enough.”

Damir Mulaomerović, the Cibona coach, was delighted: “As for my boys, and I have said it hundreds of times, and I am going to repeat it once more; I love them! I think this is what Cibona is all about. This was a thoroughly deserved win, we were fantastic, particularly in the crucial moments of the game.”

The third leg of the final series will be played at “Dražen Petrović Hall” on Thursday.
