The coach of the Croatian Davis Cup team, Željko Krajan, announced the squad for the upcoming quarterfinal of the Davis Cup against Kazakhstan, which is scheduled from April 6 to 8 in Varaždin.
Two of the best-ranked players in the singles competition, Marin Čilić (3rd) and Borna Ćorić (36th) will lead the Croatian composition at the Davis Cup quarterfinal, which will be completed with Viktor Galović (187th), Ivan Dodig (8th in pairs) and Nikola Mektić (32nd in pairs), reports Gol.hr March 27, 2018.
Borna Ćorić is continuing to play brilliant tennis on his American tour, entering the quarterfinal of the ATP Tennis Masters Series finals in Miami after defeating the 11th best player in the world, Jack Sock, after two hours and 49 minutes of play. Ćorić took the service from Sock five times and saved five of nine breaks. The Croatian tennis player won more points at the first and second service, achieving 79 and 52 percent compared to 45 percent by Sock. This was the third match between Ćorić and Sock, and the second win for Ćorić. Ćorić will play in the quarterfinal against Canadian Denis Shapovalov, 46th on the ATP ranking. Čilić plays in the quarterfinal of the Miami Open today.

It will be the first meeting of these two teams, who will play on the ground floor of the Varaždin Arena. The crew began setting up for the competition on Monday.

The winner of the match between Croatia – Kazakhstan will play in the September semifinals against the winner of the United States – Belgium. If Croatia overcomes Kazakhstan, they will be the host of the semifinal, no matter who the rival.
