“It’s a wonderful feeling to end the London Masters this way,” said Marin Čilić after defeating Kei Nishikori
The Croatian tennis player lost all chances of reaching the semi-finals before the match began, but he needed the win to secure the no. 6 position in the ATP ranking, Index.hr wrote on November 18, 2016.
“I am truly happy with my game in the last two sets. Earlier in the matches against Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka I felt great too, but I failed to make good choices. I’m proud of my ATP ranking.”
His next goal is “definitely placing among top five. That’s clear. I said before my goal was to win a Grand Slam, and I did. I can play anybody, I’ve beaten Novak which is a major thing for me. I a mentally strong and positive and cannot be more satisfied.”
