Croatian Football League – Round 34 Preview

Total Croatia News

An overview of this week’s football action.

Round 34 of the Croatian Football League is upon us, and on April, 29. 2016 we bring you a preview of all the games.

Dinamo has a chance to secure the title if Rijeka does not win against Split, and Zagreb can close up on Istra with a win against Slaven Belupo. As there is more going on in Pula, TCN’s Vilijam Žufić will bring you the article about NK Istra 1961, and their season.

There are more exciting matches in this round, so here is the preview of all the games to be played in round 34 of the CFL:

INTER – LOKOMOTIVA  – Zaprešić – Friday, 18.00 CET

Inter has no worries and enters the match in a relaxed mode while the guests want to win to stay ahead of Split in the battle for a Europa League spot. It should be a game with a few goals as both teams tend to play with an open style.

ZAGREB – SLAVEN BELUPO – Zagreb – Saturday, 15.00 CET

Zagreb has seen the light at the end of the tunnel, and with two wins in a row, they have a chance to catch up with Istra to revive their chances of survival. To get there, a win here is a must, while Slaven Belupo has no agenda in this match, as there is just one more important game for them this season – the Cup final against Dinamo.

DINAMO – ISTRA 1961 – Zagreb – Saturday, 19.00 CET

Istra has not won a single match since last October, and as Dinamo has a chance to get the title with a win here, there is only one possible result here. It would be a miracle if Istra gets a point here.

OSIJEK –  HAJDUK – Osijek – Sunday, 15.00 CET

Both teams play only for glory here, and as Osijek is missing some key players, and for Hajduk that is not even news anymore, it is an open match. Hajduk always finds it difficult to play in Osijek against motivated hosts, so it should be an entertaining game. As both teams tend to play tight defence, it is possible to see a goalless draw here.

RIJEKA –  SPLIT – Rijeka – Sunday, 19.00 CET

The derby of the round is to be played in Rujevica Stadium, and Rijeka will want the win to prolong their hopes for the title, although it has become a mission impossible. The visitors need points if they are to catch up with Lokomotiva in the battle for fourth position in the table.
