Croatia beat Denmark 27-24 in the third round match of the Olympic tournament

Handball fans in Croatia remember Portugal 2003 when the team lost its first game of the World Championships to Argentina, but came back to win the gold. Just as there, Croatian handball team started the Olympic tournament in Rio with a loss against the Qatar team, and then came back with two wins, and the second win on August 11, 2016, was a huge one.

A strong Denmark team was left with no chance to win in 60 minutes of play, as The Cowboys dominated on the both sides of the court. Ivan Pešić was brilliant in goal saving tough shots by Danish players, while the Croatian attack was too unpredictable for the Scandinavian defense.

When the Danes were to close down on the Croats, Domagoj Duvnjak, arguably one of the best handball players in the world took responsibility and scored, ending the match with eight goals. After the match, Duvnjak said to the media that he was eager to win, and that is why he was emotional even while benched to rest for a while during the game.

Croatia will face its biggest rivals in the next round of the Olympic handball tournament, the mighty French team. The match will be played on Saturday.
