Total Croatia News

It was an excellent performance by the Croatian team; Norway had no chance in today’s match.

Croatian Olympic Team got notably bigger today, as the handball team joined in on April 10, 2016. In the deciding game of the qualification tournament for Rio 2016, Croatia thrashed Norway 27-21.

As we wrote in the preview of the game, Croatian team tends to be at its best in crucial matches, and it happened again today. “The Cowboys” started the game in high spirit, getting to a 5-0 lead in the early minutes of the match. The Croatian defense was in perfect shape, and Norway has scored their first goal after 8 minutes of the game. Ivan Stevanović had 17 saves throughout the match, 13 of them in the first half.

After a perfect first half, Croatia was leading by seven goals, so the second half was a formality. Norway was simply not good enough once again against the strong Croatian team. Not to be forgotten, same teams have met in the bronze medal game on the European championship earlier this year, and the Croatian team was again a winner.

Coach Babić praised the players after the match, stating that there is no limit for this team in Brasil, and he hopes to continue the winning streak there.

In the other game, Denmark won against Bahrein, so in the end, Denmark and Croatia went trough to the Olympics.
