Croatia will have a winner in the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.

Croatian tennis players Mate Pavić and Ivan Dodig will be on opposite sides of the court in the mixed doubles final at the second Grand Slam tournament season, Roland Garros, reports Gol.hr on June 6, 2018.

After Pavić and Canadian tennis player Gabriela Dabrowski succeeded yesterday, Croatian-Taiwanese duo Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan triumphed in the semifinal on Wednesday against the Colombian-German combination of Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld with 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.

The winners of the Australian Open in mixed doubles, Pavić and Dabrowski, pushed into the Roland Garros final after defeating Slovenian player Katarina Srebotnik and Mexican player Santiago Gonzalez 6-4, 6-4. The final of mixed doubles is scheduled on Thursday.

We could see Croatian tennis players in the men’s doubles final, as well. Mate Pavić and Oliver Marach advanced to the semifinal on Tuesday after an Australian Open rematch against Colombian pair Juan Sebastian Cabal and Roberto Farah with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, while Nikola Mektić and Austrian tennis player Alexander Peya overcame the Indian-French combination of Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin with 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Pavić and Marach will play for a place in the final against Spaniards Feliciano and Marco Lopez, while Mektić and Peya will play against French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut.

The men’s singles quarterfinal between Marin Čilić and Juan Martín Del Potra was suspended due to rain with a 6-6 result in games and 5-5 in tiebreaks in the first set. The players were unable to finish the first set as the rain interrupted the match twice, though Čilić had saved a total of six match points. The game will resume on Thursday.
