Dinamo beat Rudeš at Maksimir with a score of 2:0 in front of just one hundred spectators.
New Dinamo coach Nikola Jurčević made his debut at Maksimir with a 2:0 victory over Rudeš, a club from the western Zagreb suburb who is currently the last placed HNL team. Mario Gavranović (45th minute) and Dani Olmo (66th minute) were Dinamo’s shooters, reports Gol.hr on March 17, 2018.
Jurčević premiered at the Dinamo club successfully after the team suffered two consecutive defeats in the league. Even with yesterday’s win, Jurčević was not able to flourish as Dinamo was expected to score many goals against the last placed team. The wins against the ‘little ones’ should be more convincing, but the encounter was marked by many mistakes made by Dinamo’s players.
Just like at Kranjčevića where only a few dozen spectators gathered for the Lokomotiva – Inter (2:3) game in Zagreb, Nikola Jurčević’s first match at Maksimir saw maybe 100 fans.
Though the rain influenced the visit, these figures are shameful for the matches in the Croatian First League. Especially when the first place team is involved.
The notorious Dinamo fan group, the Bad Blue Boys, were nowhere to be found in the north stands as they were protesting the announced sale of the club in front of the stadium during the game. The BBBs launched a protest march behind the legendary transparency that read “Dinamo’s World”, beginning from Kvaternik Square. Around two hundred members of the club’s fan group gathered in protest, as it was also the 32nd birthday celebration of the Bad Blue Boys fan group.
Dinamo fans have sent a clear message to the club’s leadership that “Dinamo is not for sale and we want elections”. The police monitored the protest for its duration and no incidents were reported.
Quite the opposite situation as more Dinamo fans protested front of the stadium than supported the team in the stands of Maksimir.
In Saturday’s second match, Inter defeated Lokomotiva 3-2 at Kranjčevićeva street stadium, although Lokomotiva first led 2-0. The game was followed by only 80 spectators, which is almost the lowest number of visitors to Lokomotiva’s home games. The undisclosed record is 67 spectators at the match against Zadar in 2011 at Maksimir Stadium.
Lokomotiva’s goals were scored by Kolinger (13th minute) and Krstanović (42nd minute), but Inter managed to take home the winning result with two goals by Andrić (45th, 62nd) and an own goal by Datković (80th).
The 26th round of the Croatian First League will close on Sunday with games between Osijek and Hajduk, and Rijeka and Cibalia. On the ladder, Dinamo currently has 59 points, while Hajduk is second with a game less at 50 points, and Rijeka in third with 47 points.
