Dinamo played against Fenerbahce in Istanbul without goals. Before the last round of games, they have secured first place in their Europa League group.

In their 5th Europa League game in Group D, Dinamo played 0:0 against Fenerbahçe in Istanbul and secured first place in the group before the last round, reports Gol.hr on November 29, 2018.

With four wins in the first four rounds, Dinamo sought just a point in Istanbul to secure the first place in the group. Although Fenerbahçe dominated in the first half, the Zagreb club managed to defend without giving up a goal. Dinamo will thus play a ‘European spring’ for the first time since 1970.

The Turkish team opened the match better and dominated most of the first half. The Croatian champion had only one chance in the first 45 minutes.

In the 10th minute, Stojanović crossed the ball to Gavranović, though Harun Tekin, with incredible effort, stopped the Dinamo attack. Fenerbahçe came close to a goal in the first half when Valbuena crossed from a corner, though Škrtel missed an open goal.

Dinamo played far better in the second half. In the 74th minute, Bruno Petković threatened the Fenerbahçe defense, though his shot went wide. In the 87th minute, Stojanović missed another chance at goal. The game ended 0:0.

With this draw, Dinamo has thus extended their run of 10 games without a defeat in the Europa League, achieving six wins and four draws.

In the second match of this group, Anderlecht and Spartak Trnava also played without goals. Ivan Santini and Antonio Milić did not perform for the Belgian side.

Dinamo now has 13 points, while Fenerbahçe has eight points and will advance in the competition. Spartak has four points, while Anderlecht remains in the last place with two.

In the final round of December 13, Dinamo will host Anderlecht at Maksimir, while Spartak and Fenerbahçe will meet in the other Group D game.
