The 33-year-old tennis player has reached the 10th doubles title of his career!

Out of the two Croatian Davis Cup teammates, the more experienced, 33-year-old Ivan Dodig, with his partner Rajeev Ram, defeated the 29-year-old Zagreb tennis player Nikola Mektić and Austrian Alexander Peya 6-3, 7-5 in the ATP tournament finals in Munich. This is Dodig’s first joint trophy with the American tennis player and his tenth total in doubles competitions, reports on May 6, 2018.

Dodig and Ram made a decisive break in the first set for 5-3, and in the second they saved two match balls at 4-5. They had a break shortly after and won the title with their service. Rajeev Ram has thus achieved the 15th title in his career, and the first played on outdoor clay courts.

Mektić and Peya can still only boast their single joint title, which was won this year in Marrakech. In Munich, they have experienced the third defeat in the final, as they were also without winning trophies in Sofia and Rio de Janeiro.

Dodig and Ram have earned 250 points and will split 27,170 euro for the victory, while Mektić and Peya have won 150 points and prize money of 14,280 euro.

The singles final in Munich will see Alexander Zverev face Philipp Kohlschreiber.
