Jorge Sammir Cruz Campos will again play in the Dinamo jersey! Dinamo has confirmed Sammir’s return to Zagreb on Thursday.

The Brazilian Sammir will return to his former club after the termination of his contract with Chinese Jiangsu Suning FC. The move was confirmed on the official Dinamo website on January 19, 2017.

“I feel great pleasure and pride that I will again wear the Dinamo jersey and play for the club where I spent the best days of my career. I look forward to returning to Maksimir and to the new challenges that await me,” said Sammir who will join the tram on Saturday morning for their second part of winter preparations in Turkey.

Dinamo coach Ivaylo Peter is thrilled about the return of the former Croatian national team player.

“I am happy that the club brought back Sammir whose quality will bring another dimension to Dinamo. He has more experience compared to what he had three years ago and I look forward to his arrival,” said the Dinamo coach.

General manager of the club Tomislav Svetina added:

“We have made a great effort to bring Sammir back to Dinamo and we are proud of this job. He happens to be one of the club’s most awarded players to whom we wish a nice welcome back to Maksimir.”

Sammir is one of the most talented players that Zdravko Mamic brought over to Dinamo. With the club, Sammir spent seven years and won seven Croatian league titles. Sammir left Dinamo in 2014 after problems with then coach Zoran Mamic.

As many of you may recall, Sammir also received a Croatian passport and played seven games for the Croatian national team, including being selected for the 2014 World Cup. Back in October, Sammir was also named the highest paid Croatian footballer with a salary of 6.4m euros annually.

Since January 2014, Sammir has played for the Spanish football club Getafe, which was followed by a move to the Chinese Jiangsu Suning FC. He was loan to Hangzhou Greentown from 2016.

The Brazilian will sign the contract with Dinamo tomorrow at 22:30 at the Zagreb airport.
