The 14th round of the Croatian First League was played from November 9 to 11, 2018, which saw Hajduk finally make the jump up to 6th place.

We’re back with another weekend of Croatian football, which will be the last for a week as the Croatia national team meets on Monday to continue their run in the UEFA Nations League.

The 14th round brought some excitement back into the standings, as a Hajduk win at home in front of no fans finally brought them the jump from 7th to 6th place – though they’re still a good 8 points behind Rijeka in 5th.

Dinamo managed another win after an exciting week for the Zagreb club who advanced to the 2nd round of Europa League for the first time in 49 years

With no real upsets to report, here’s a look at the results of the 14th round.

Rudeš v. Gorica (0:1)

Rudeš and Gorica kicked off the 14th round on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Kranjčevićeva street.

While the first half was quiet with no cards and no goals, the second half saw the only goal of the game. Gorica’s Zwolinski found the back of the net in the 62nd minute for 0:1, which was how the game ended. Rudeš did, however, receive a red card in the 74th.

Rudeš remains in the last place with 2 points, while Gorica is in 4th with 26.

Slaven Belupo v. Osijek (0:2)

Slaven Belupo and Osijek met in Koprivnica on Saturday, November 10, 2018, for their 14th round match.

Another quiet first half in the Croatian First League, the second half saw both goals for Osijek – one by Hajradinović in the 58th minute, and one by Pilj in the 82nd for a final score of 0:2.

Belupo is currently in 7th place with 13 points, while Osijek is in 3rd with 27.

Hajduk v. Inter Zaprešić (3:0)

Hajduk and Inter met on Saturday, November 10, 2018, in front of no fans at Poljud as Hajduk serves the rest of their HNS penalty.

The exciting (and needed) win for Hajduk began with a goal by Palaversa in the 19th minute for 1:0 at the half.

Jairo quickly scored at the start of the second half for 2:0 in the 49th minute, and Said sealed the victory for the Split club with a goal in the 65th.

Hajduk has now jumped to 6th place with 16 points, while Inter is in 8th with 11.

Istra 1961 v. Rijeka (1:2)

Istra and Rijeka met in Pula on Sunday, November 11, 2018, for their 14th round match.

Rijeka was the first to score with a goal by Čolak in the 7th minute, which was followed by a goal by Kvrzic in the 35th.  The game was 0:2 at the half.

Istra was able to get one goal, however, and Perić scored in the 88th minute for 1:2.

Istra is currently in 9th place with 9 points, while Rijeka is in 5th with 24.

Lokomotiva v. Dinamo (0:1)

Lokomotiva and Dinamo met for the highly anticipated match to close out the 14th round on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Kranjčevićeva street. Over 3,200 fans were in attendance.

It was the battle between the first and second place on the Croatian First League table, though it wasn’t much of a battle.

Dinamo’s Petković scored in the 16th minute for 0:1, which was the final score of the game.

Dinamo is still in first place with 36 points, while Lokomotiva is in 2nd with 28.
