Austrian Marcel Hirscher defended his world champion title in slalom after winning on Sunday at the World Championship in Sankt Moritz

Hirscher, who also won a gold in giant slalom on Thursday, won with a time of 1:34.75, ahead of his fellow national Manuel Feller (+0,68) and German Felix Neureuther (0,93), Jutarnji List reported on February 19, 2017.

Of the Croatian representatives, 37-year-old Ivica Kostelić, in his final race of his career, placed 38th with 7.95 seconds behind the winner. Istok Rodeš had the best run, finishing 30th with 4.88 seconds behind, while Matej Vidović was 35th. Kostelić secured his participation today by placing 15th in qualifications on Saturday, ending the first run as 46th.

“I don’t think it was that bad, considering the lower part was poorly driven. I’m not at this championship for the result, I just wanted to come here one more time. This was the last World Championship for me,” said Ivica after the first run.
