As we have written before, Kosovo is placed in group I of the European Qualifiers for 2018 World Cup due to security reasons.
UEFA Emergency Board announced on June 9, 2016, that Kosovo national team will join Croatia in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers this fall. As only two groups had space for extra teams, UEFA decided to place Gibraltar in group H, and Kosovo in group I.
Since Bosnia And Herzegovina was in the remaining available group, the board decided placing Kosovo in the same group would pose a security risk, so Croatia will face a slightly tougher task its path to the World Cup. This means that the schedule will also change, and the other teams with Croatia and Kosovo are Iceland, Turkey, Ukraine, and Finland.
