Live from Zagreb: Thousands Welcome Croatia’s World Cup Finalists

Follow our live updates of the national team returning to Croatia as World Cup finalists. 

The Croatia national football team will arrive at Dr. Franjo Tuđman Airport in Zagreb today at 15:00, where open buses will take the team to the thousands of fans at Ban Josip Jelačić Square.

The Croatian footballers celebrated on the bus to the hotel after the game, at the hotel, and before they boarded their plane from Moscow, proudly wearing their silver World Cup medal. 

Ban Jelačić Square saw fans gather early this morning – and many have been there since 9am!

The bus that will carry the team on a parade route which will begin from Ulica Rudolfa Fizira – Zagrebačka ulica – Ulica Savezne Republike Njemačke – Avenija Dubrovnik – Avenija Većeslava Holjevca – Most slobode – Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice – Ulica grada Vukovara –Savska cesta – Rooseveltov trg – Trg Republike Hrvatske – Frankopanska ulica – Ilica – Trg bana Josipa Jelačića.

 

Reports say around 300,000 fans welcomed the team in Zagreb today.
