A rare chance to meet some of Croatia’s top handball stars in Jelsa on Wednesday July 15th.
On Wednesday July 15th, some of Croatia’s most famous handball stars will be on hand to talk to fans and budding players, answer questions and pose for photos.
The gathering will take place in the sports centre in Pelin in Jelsa at 10 am.
Handball is one of Croatia’s most successful sports, and the stars command a great following. This is a great chance to get to know what makes them tick.
The representatives will include goalkeeper Venio Losert, centre back Ivano Balić and right back Petar Metličić.
Ivano Balić was in the teams which won World and Olympic titles, and twice won the IHF World Player of the Year award, in 2003 and 2006. Split-born Petar Metličić, was captain of the team which won gold at the 2003 World Championships in Portugal, and the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Venio Losert had the honour of carrying the Croatian flag at the opening of the Olympic Games in London ibn 2012, where the handball team won the bronze medal.
