December 4, 2023 – The Croatian Football Federation has chosen the Neuruppin base camp for the Croatia national team during EURO 2024.

The Neuruppin base camp includes the Mark Brandenburg Resort on the shore of Lake Ruppiner and the associated Volksparkstadion training ground, which is only a seven-minute drive from the hotel.

The Croatian Football Federation selected four options in each of the three Euro regions on July 11, 2022, the first day when it could be done. In September of this year, the HNS delegation visited the selected options. Immediately after the final draw, which placed Croatia in the northern region, national team assistant coach Ivica Olić, team manager Iva Olivari, and spokesperson Tomislav Pacak performed a final inspection of the best options in the region. In agreement with HNS president Marijan Kustić and coach Zlatko Dalić, Neuruppin was chosen as the best option for Croatia.

“We always start from the fact that it is our duty to provide the national team with the best possible conditions, and therefore we started the whole process in 2022. Of course, we did not burden the national team staff with this topic before and during the qualifications. Neuruppin was one of the most sought-after camps in the entire Uefa catalog, and I am happy that our logistics managed it well and outpaced numerous other national teams. We are geographically positioned perfectly for the group stage. We will have an idyllic environment and excellent sports conditions, which is the most important thing for the national team,” emphasized the HNS president, Marijan Kustić.

Neuruppin is located 75 kilometers from the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, where Croatia opens EURO 2024 against Spain. Hamburg (225 kilometers) and Leipzig (227 kilometers) are also quickly accessible by bus, meaning Croatia will not need flights even to their games against Albania and Italy. The Mark Brandenburg Resort has an excellent fitness center and quality facilities for recovery, while the training center, along with a superb lawn, also ensures privacy for the team.

“I have great confidence in the logistics of the Federation, which was confirmed during the past competitions, as we had excellent conditions from Russia to Doha. I had a positive impression of this camp based on the detailed analysis provided because it offers exactly what we strive for the most – excellent sports conditions, from the fitness center to the training center, and a calm, beautiful, and pleasant environment. In addition, we are perfectly positioned, and we will not waste a lot of time traveling, so I am convinced that Neuruppin is a complete hit,” said coach Zlatko Dalić.
