I had a wonderful day today. Three generations of girls, me, my daughter and my mother having a day for ourselves. Not that we would do anything special. No, it was just a peaceful day of a normal ordinary life. Shopping for food in the morning, cooking lunch and taking a long walk in the afternoon, getting home with those winter-rosy cheeks, sitting at the kitchen table over a coffee and some afternoon fruit. It was so relaxing. I treasure those moments.
My husband on the other hand was spending his afternoon on the football pitch. Two generations of boys of his family, my husband and his nephew doing what they love the most. Playing football for the Jelsa Football Club – NK Jelsa.
I am in a process of learning to accept the football thing (If you don′t know what I am talking about, read my husband′s
favourite article on Total Hvar). Most of the time, I am not very successful in dealing with the fact, that the island league is taking almost all my husband′s free weekend time, but I am keen to deal with it and somehow make it work for our family.
And so, this is part of my therapy. After a perfect day with my girls, I will spent the evening writing about football. This is how I am supporting my husband and at the same time having a great Saturday. Works just perfect.
The currently leading team of the Hvar Island League (Forska Nogometna Liga), NK Jelsa was organising the 7th annual Memorial Tournament Petar Cripović, in honour of the young football player, who died in 2005 in his sleep.
The tournament is a one-day event with 4 teams participating: NK Vatra from Poljica, NK Varbonj from Vrbanj, NK Sloga from Dol and NK Jelsa. Jelsa and Varbonj won their initial games and found themselves in the finale, where Jelsa won 2-0. Sloga beat Vatra 4-1, and finished 3rd.

Congratulations to NK Jelsa!! Congratulations to all of you. I am sure, you are very proud to bring the cup to Jelsa in honour to the late Petar.
