Croatia Beats Spain for Spot in Olympic Water Polo Semifinals!

August 7, 2024 – Croatia has booked their spot in the Olympic water polo semifinals!

Croatia beat Spain 10:8 (2:0, 4:3, 2:2, 2:3) in the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games in Paris on Wednesday and booked their spot in the semifinals, where they will meet the winner of Italy and Hungary.

Loren Fatović, Maro Joković and Konstantin Kharkov scored two goals for Croatia, while Rino Burić, Ante Vukičević, Marko Žuvela and Josip Vrlić scored one each. The brilliant Marko Bijač made eight saves.

Croatia was never down against the current European champion today. They certainly played their best match of the tournament and have now entered the fight for an Olympic medal.

Croatia will play their semi-final match on Friday against either Italy or Hungary.
